Meet The Team
President & CEO
P. Ryan Langston
My primary objective at Flathead Ridge Ranch is to create a sustainable and healthy forest that will last for generations. I have always enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether fishing in the backwoods of Oklahoma, hiking through the desert in the Middle East, or boating on one of the many lakes of Texas. I originally fell in love with the mountains while attending Brigham Young University and then moved back to Texas where I received my law degree from the University of Texas. After spending 14 years practicing law, I left Goosehead Insurance (NASDAQ: GSHD) in 2023 to focus on managing Flathead Ridge Ranch and N5B Capital, the investment office for Mark and Robyn Jones and their family. While not working, I enjoy traveling and spending time with my wife and our four children.

Head of Security
Stan Ottosen
I grew up in the Flathead Valley and graduated from Bigfork High School. I attended the University of North Dakota and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Studies. I was hired by the Center for Aerospace Studies to train commercial pilots, but missed the rural lifestyle and my roots in Montana, so I returned to the Flathead Valley and began a 20-year career in Law Enforcement. I retired as a Detective from the Kalispell Police Department and joined FRR in 2021. I enjoy shooting, hunting, hiking, camping, and spending time out in this great state with my wife and kids. I have enjoyed working for FRR – especially the relationships gained with the neighbors and surrounding properties.

I’ve spent a big part of my life wrenching and fabricating on cars, trucks, and bikes. Racing is a true passion of mine - pushing myself and a machine to the limits is one of the best feelings I’ve ever experienced. I became very passionate about rodeo and horsemanship throughout most of my 20s. I am glad to see the cowboy lifestyle is alive and well here in the Flathead Valley. I am driven to continually improve my overall health and fitness and enjoy engaging in various physical activities and creating new challenges to find my true potential. FRR has presented me with a great opportunity and I am fortunate to be a part of this outstanding team. I am very thankful to work for the Jones family as they are kind, generous, and people who focus on putting family and community first.

Head of Forestry
Caleb Deitz
I'm responsible for forest management, environmental sustainability and certification, liaison to federal and state land management agencies, and public outreach for FRR. I grew up in a farming family near Mead, WA. I obtained my Wildlife Biology degree from the University of Montana. After marrying the love of my life, I moved to the Flathead Valley and began my career in forestry. I have worked as a forester in both the public and private sectors for the last 9 years. I'm excited to help conserve and protect the Flathead Ridge Ranch property. When not working, I can be found on FRR lands teaching my daughters traditional archery and leading my wife to the nearest huckleberry patch.
Vice President of Operations
Samantha Williams
I grew up going to my family's Century Farm in East Texas where I rode horses and dirt bikes nearly every weekend and learned about the cattle and timber businesses my family still operate today. I graduated from Texas A&M University in 2015 and began working for Goosehead Insurance (NASDAQ: GSHD) where I held a variety of leadership roles. In 2023, I left GSHD and joined the Jones' family investment office, N5B Capital, where I also oversee operations for Flathead Ridge Ranch. In my free time, I enjoy playing tennis and spending time with my husband and daughter.
Security Officer
Michael Brooks
I was born and raised in Libby, Montana. I joined the U.S. Navy where I found my calling as a military police officer. I moved back to Montana and attended the Montana Highway Patrol Academy where I was stationed in Bigfork and Kalispell during my time as a State Trooper. I then joined the Kalispell Police Department where I served for over 19 years. I retired from the Kalispell Police Department as a Patrol Sergeant and am now serving as a Security Officer for FRR. I enjoy hunting, fishing, cars and spending time with my family in the outdoors of Montana.
Ranch Technician
James Dutton
I was born and raised North of Whitefish in the country. I've always been passionate about hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. I started racing motocross when I was 6 years old and my father taught me how to wrench on my own dirt bikes as I grew older. In 2018 I obtained a degree in Diesel Technology from the University of Montana. I love what I do for my job because it's ever-changing with all the seasons. Working for Flathead Ridge Ranch has been a dream come true. I am able to live in my hometown while working for a great family and upkeeping their property. Being involved in the community is and will continue to be rewarding with our team at Flathead Ridge Ranch.
Ranch Operator
Jordan Starkel
I was born and raised in Columbia Falls where I spent all of my time outdoors. My intense love for the mountains, hunting and fishing molded me into who I am today. After graduating high school I worked in the oil fields and have done most trades in construction and building. Now working for FRR, all the land I grew up hunting and enjoying with my family and friends is part of my everyday life. My position is versatile season to season, making each day maintaining FRR a dream come true.
Security Officer
Dennis Petersen
My family moved to Montana in 1985. I graduated from Flathead high School and have been lucky enough to stay in the Flathead Valley most of my adult life. I retired from the Kalispell Police Department as the patrol Lieutenant in Summer 2024 to join the Flathead Ridge Ranch security team. Like most Montanans, I enjoy the outdoors and spend most of my free time camping, hunting, shooting, and spending time with my friends and family.
